WASHINGTON (CNS) -- A small group of activists hit Washington Feb. 20-21 in a cross-country bus tour protesting the U.S. bombing and economic embargo against Iraq. Riding the Omran Bus -- named for a 13-year-old Iraqi shepherd boy reportedly killed by a U.S. bomb in southern Iraq last May -- members of Voices in the Wilderness and a local Catholic Worker community brought their message to the Pentagon, Georgetown University and a Catholic high school and church in Washington. The ongoing U.S.-British bombing of Iraq is "completely illegal" and "is the largest bombing campaign by the United States since Vietnam," said Jesuit Father Simon Harak, a member of the Omran Bus tour.
